About

Why this site exists

DLsite's average ratings are extremely J-shaped: most buyers give high scores and very few give low ones. As a result almost every work sits between 4.5 and 4.8, so the average rating is nearly useless for comparing works.

Sales figures are cumulative, so works that sold well years ago stay on top forever. Neither "what is good right now" nor "what buyers actually loved" can be read from the official rankings.

So we re-ranked the works after statistically removing the effects of sales volume and how long a work has been on sale. Those are the four work rankings, plus tag heat.

The five rankings

Well-rated — 300

Works that buyers have rated especially highly recently. On DLsite's popularity rankings the extremely J-shaped distribution keeps amplifying the effect of sales volume. The biggest difference from the official ranking is that ours is almost unrelated to sales — Well-rated is not swayed by how many copies were sold.

Hot — 2,000

Works selling right now. Ranked by how fast they sell, not by cumulative sales, so works that sold well years ago cannot sit at the top forever. Detecting a recent burst of momentum is still accumulating data, so overall sales speed dominates for now.

Hidden gems — 2,000

Low sellers with exceptionally high buyer ratings. This ranking is actually the original reason this site exists. A great many works sell very little and never get any chance to appear in front of most people. They say "good wine needs no bush" — but that is not the era we live in anymore... With that feeling, the site owner began a full-throttle battle with statistics.

Hall of Fame — 2,000

Works that have been loved for a long time. Originally we expected this list to be the one most similar to DLsite's cumulative popularity — but in practice there is still a recognisable difference. It shows that our way of measuring "buyers were especially willing to praise it" really is different from the official one.

Tag heat

"Rank tags by recent sales" — for ASMR listeners this is just a bit of fun, and for me it was the same. But once I actually built it, I found out what all-ages works are into these days, and it felt like a hypothesis being confirmed. I assumed that with only a short time window the ranking would keep changing — but in reality it does not. It seems that once a fetish gets ignited, it is not so easy to put out.

About the scores

• Scores are deviation values (mean 50, SD 10, clamped to 1–99).
• Normalised within price bands, so cheap and expensive works are not disadvantaged.
• The effects of sales volume and how long a work has been on sale are statistically removed.
• Works with few samples are shrunk toward the mean.
• Every ranking keeps only the top 2,000 (Well-rated, Hot and Hidden gems alike). Below that, a work is simply outside the ranking.
• The "Ranking generated" time at the top of a page is when that ranking was computed.
• Brand-new works normally do not appear. Ratings and reviews take time to accumulate, so this site is not for discovering just-released works.

About the data

• Covers 100,147 audio works (ASMR etc.) on DLsite (data updated: 2026/11/06).
• Work titles use the original edition's title, not the translated edition's, so most of them are in Japanese.
• Tag names follow the interface language (日本語 / 简体中文 / 繁體中文 / 한국어 / English).
• Well-rated, Hot and Hidden gems update daily; Hall of Fame and tag heat update weekly.
• Prices and sales counts are as of the fetch time. Always confirm on DLsite.
• The Day / Week / Month badges show the best rank a work achieved on DLsite and the date it achieved it.
